Job role: Dispatch Manager                          Salary/Pay: £30,000 - £45,000

Job type: Full-time (Mon-Friday 6pm – 2am)                          

Job description:
• Managing a flexible team of six and over 25 vehicles.
• Responsible for the correct packing of all customer orders.
• Efficient use of resources within the picking area and completing final quality checks.
• Maintaining and controlling the optimum number of staff required to ensure a profitable and efficient picking area.
• Ensure products are picked to exact customer requirements, undamaged, hygienically and without waste of manpower or time.
• Ensure job training is carried out and recorded so all staff become interchangeable and the quality procedure is adhered to.
• Build a team and maintain discipline during work times.
• Man management, including; rota’s, holiday planning, disciplinary’s and performance reviews.
• Communicating company requirements and team performances to staff.
• Achieving company KPI’s.
• Implicating cost saving and business improvement techniques.
• Reporting to senior managers, particularly regarding the picking area and staff issues before they become critical.
• Recording accurate and legible paperwork.
• Carry out hygiene checks at the end of each day to ensure no products are left remaining.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.

Personal requirements:
• Experience as a dispatch manager (preferably in the food industry, delivering to supermarkets).
• Computer literate and fully competent with Sage and Excel software.
• Fork Lift Truck Counterbalance License (FLT).
• Vehicle loading and unloading knowledge and experience.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self motivated with flexible attitude.
• Ability to use initiative to problem solve and multi-task.
• Strive for continuous improvement.
• Leadership and motivational skills.
• Strong understanding of H&S requirements.
• Understand the pace and dynamics of a 24hour working business.
