Reporting to the Operations Director,the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for hands on direct supervision and mentoring to the maintenance personnel ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable maintenance of production equipment and facilities. Executing the best maintenance practices that deliver plant goals in the support of operations at all times.

Main Duties

o Coordinate and supervise all maintenance functions necessary to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the plant to meet scheduled production level, taking immediate and decisive action to minimize disruption of operation.

o Develop and promote a world class maintenance support function through technical work direction, coaching, training and development of maintenance personnel, to increase the skill levels within the function - this should include technical and analytical training.

o Continually evaluating, the planned and preventative maintenance programs, recommending changes to optimize maintenance effectiveness and work quality.

o Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including the understanding and ownership of all budgetary responsibilities.

o To manage & develop departmental KPI’s that ensure the maintenance targets are achieved by careful management of resources.

o Maintain and enforce safety procedures, including all lockout/tagout and safe work procedures. Maintain direct working relationship with environmental, health and safety representatives.

o To manage the installation and commissioning of new production equipment, from site arrival to operations handover in a timely manner.

o To ensure the departmental requirements for quality assurance and legal compliance are implemented and maintained.


Pro-active hands on approach to people management and problem solving.

 Appreciation of the requirement for rapid 1st response backed by the ability to establish root cause and permanent fixes.

 Ability to work and respond under pressure and to deadlines.

 Team player who will motivate key employees and contracted support.


A thorough understanding of modern CNC machinery and automation.

 Experience of electronic & electrical control.(Fanuc / Alan Bradley / Siemens)

 High computer literacy levels.

 Appreciation of TS16949, ISO14001 & other relevant standards.

 Up to date with the latest technologies and best in class working practices.


A sound background in engineering principles and practices, with at least 10 years of on the job experience.

 Possess a degree or HNC in an appropriate engineering discipline.

 At least 5 years managerial experience essential.

 Experience of managing a small compact team, preferably in a machining, mass production environment.

 Project management experience for installing new equipment.
