Industrial Engineer (Cycle time analysis)

My client is one of the largest specialist service providers in the automotive industry, offering a unique combination of customized services and highly qualified personnel, which makes them the preferred partner of automobile manufacturers and automotive industry suppliers worldwide.

I have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer to join the team in Luton.

As an Industrial Engineer you will be responsible for improving performance through time study or cycle time evaluation with a focus on how to get the work done most efficiently. You will be balancing many factors-such as time, number of workers needed, and available technology, actions workers need to take, achieving the end product with no errors, workers' safety, environmental concerns, and cost.

Main Duties and Responsibilities when fully trained:

•              Review and create cycle time analysis for direct labour on established lines.

•              Review picking and sequencing cells to identify cyclic and non-cyclic timings

•              Update cycle time and work balance charts accordingly.

•              Develop layout optimisation with logistics supervisor and team

•              Track OEE% on all manufacturing cells

•              Construct and Develop Cad drawings  and Value stream mapping for all cells

•              Create mapping  tools to visualise FLT & material movement

•              Take a leading role in CIP workshops and cycle time improvement workshops

Key skills

•              Good appreciation of manufacturing processes, controls and organisation

•              Knowledge of module assembly cells and sequencing functions

•              Good level of computer literacy- Microsoft excel

•              Capable of using AutoCAD software for layouts                               

•              Good verbal communicator / presenter

•              Good appreciation of Product design engineering principles

The successful candidate will be educated to HNC level or equivalent in Engineering or a similar subject and have previous experience of working within this sector. Knowledge of Autocad software and product design engineering principles is required.
