CMM Programmer in Burnley

Role overview

We are looking for CMM Programmer to join the quality team. My client is one of the UK’s most advanced, precision engineering companies. We have a great opportunity to join the quality team in the automotive division.

You will be working in the modern manufacturing operation which is spread over 100,000 sg ft. This company is committed to growth and development demonstrated with a multi-million pound investment programme in expanding capacity with an additional 80,000 sq /ft of capacity already under construction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious quality professional to take your career to the next level. We are looking for an analytical problem solver, an effective communicator and team player.

You will be responsible for ensuring robust and accurate CMM programs are generated for all NPI components and meeting project milestones. You will take a lead role in CMM fixture design, introducing work instructions and providing relevant training. You will help to devise measurement strategies, validate components against GD&T requirements.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Educated to HNC level or an equivalent level in Engineering / Manufacturing discipline.

  • You will have previous experience working within an engineering environment. 

  • Operating and programming CMM machines to measure

  • Faro Arm technology

  • Inspection equipment and in-process inspection of machined parts

  • PC DMIS

  • Offline program / model

  • Excellent knowledge of engineering drawings

  • Excellent ability to work manual measuring equipment (micrometres, calipers, verniers)

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills will be critical to your success in the role.  

  • We’ll also expect you to have the motivation to embrace continuous improvement along with Lean and 6 Sigma training.
