2018: A year of recognition

Manchester, Durham and Birmingham based recruitment business Start People Ltd is closing in on an outstanding fourth year of business. Since its opening in 2015, the firm have specialised in four diverse and progressive Manufacturing sectors – Automotive, Engineering, Industrial and FMCG, all of which have pushed the business forward in terms of growth and revenue. This year also marked the opening of Start People’s third location in the West Midlands, the hub of their automotive operations.

Importantly, 2018 is proving to be an exceptional year for their Industrial Division. From the beginning, the firm have invested a huge amount of capital into specialist recruitment and systems to ensure the best possible service is available 24/7 to all their clients. With increasing demand over the past 6 months and a desire to not just fulfil but exceed expectations in addition to offering market leading value added services, Start People expect that meeting the needs of such high volume labour requirements from their larger clients will contribute to a promising Q4 in 2018. This contribution will enable the brand to surpass last years sales of £6.4M. Whilst demand for Industrial business grows as does the need to grow the team and support the function in its success – something the business have fulfilled this year with the addition of three new team members operating from its Manchester hub.

With this, the firm’s success this year has certainly not gone unnoticed. Start People have gained recognition from various awarding bodies throughout 2018 – closing in the year with an impressive 6 award nominations. The recruiter has been shortlisted in categories from Best Newcomer (The Business Masters), Service Industry of the Year (Best New Business Awards) and B2B Business of the Year (Startups awards) to some with larger institutions such as the British Small Business Awards for Small Business of the Year. Such awards are able to shine the spotlight on small businesses like Start People who are often said to be the ‘engine room of the economy’, the businesses providing quality products and services to customers bringing a significant contribution to Britain’s success.

As a recruitment business, Start People see results not only in revenue generated or recognition but the amount of candidates they deal with and place into their dream roles – partnering the best skills with progressive, forward looking UK businesses.

With such success, Start People aim to achieve continued growth into 2019 creating more jobs in their Manchester, Durham and Birmingham locations. The role of the recruitment consultant is fast-paced, demanding and diverse - no two days are ever the same. Thorough training in all aspects of the recruitment sector, processes, and skills to succeed is part of the induction at Start People that has enabled the business to grow further and continue supporting UK businesses over the past 12 months.
